Charity Truckers 200 Raises $12, 374.00 for the Helmick Family Wednesday, December 19, 2007 C.A.R.S. Media
Jerry Maxson, representing the firefighters in a check presentation, a part of the funds raised to assist Kaleigh. The 2nd Annual Charity Truckers 200 presented by Biscayne Roofing, that ran last weekend at Orlando Speedworld, has raised $12,374.00 for Kaleigh, Bob and Misty Helmick, according to event organizer Rick Bristol.
Racers from around the state in several different divisions or forms of racing came together to raise money for this family with many great sponsors helping to make it possible. Weather put a little twist into the event, leading to some delays and cutting short the program. But as Bristol pointed out, he crews, drivers, officials and fans fought through it to accomplish the mission.
"I really am just beside myself as to the overwhelming support, that the racers, official, crews and fans showed for this event. Bristol said after the event. "It really is becoming a huge deal, and that is what I prayed for since the inception of the first one." stated Promoter Rick Bristol.

The fans turned out even with the overcast weather. When the rains did come, interupting the on track autograph session, fans spent the time makign new aqauintences, enjoying the Sprint Car Simulators and the display of Daytona Antique Auto Racers cars.
"So many folks showed so much support, when I was stressing they just said it will be ok, Rick. I know for many, things did not go well, but for the most part everyone showed great professionalism and handled things well." Stated Bristol.
There were some parts of the well planned program that were not able to happen due to the rain. Bristol explained, "I really apologize to the folks that were left without the opening ceremonies and the proper thank you's. I really wanted to get to thank them all for what they did. I have tried to convey that message after the event and through e-mails and posts, I am so very grateful and appreciative to all of them and words alone do not do justice to the way they have touched my heart and the heart of the Helmick's and the Hopkins families. There were also some things left out of the program and I promise that will be fixed next year. I had folks donate money to both families. We have collected $987.00 for the Hopkins family as well, because of some awesome people. I will round it up and be sending them $1,000 for a nice Christmas".
The wheels arre already spinning for the 3rd addition of the Charity Trtuckers 200 for 2008 and some changes and surprises will begin being announced hopefully by the end of January. Last year $6,584.00 was raised for the Hopkins Family, this year $12,374.00 for the Helmick's and $1000.00 for the Hopkins.
Bristol said, "In two events just short of $20,000 has been raised and race drivers, crews, officials and fans should be proud to be able to help those in need, you have done well, and are to be thanked."
Bristol imparted a special Holiday message for the fans, drivers and others who supporteed the event this year: "I again say thanks to all from the bottom of my heart, I pray God Blesses everyone that had a part in this, and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May 2008 be a great year for all. I am praying God gives the Helmick's a miracle for Kaleigh. I am so grateful for what he has done for Tommy, I serve a great God" !
Be watching for details of the 3rd Annual Charity Truckers 200, and what family will be assisted in 2008.
Thanks again to all who helped Rick Bristol and to all who helped the Helmick's. More information is available at the C.A.R.S. Racer Marketing website .

I know that the drivers, fans and crews will understand and will be there to support the Helmicks. I still need sponsors for a couple of divisions Legends $1000, Antiques $500, Mini-Cups $500 and Champ Karts $500. You can become a Gold ($500) Silver ($300) or Bronze ($150) sponsor those packets include different size ads in the program and qty packets of tickets to the event and PA mentions. If you can get/donate any autographed Nascar items for a celebrity auction that would be great, please just contact me.
I really need help getting the word out about the event, we will not spend money on advertising as it is just so expensive, I think we can all make it a great event, and pack the place if we will just tell others around us. If you can come help me on a planned Saturday cover the Orlando area please let me know. If you have given or you have volunteered or will give I just ask you to pray and consider if you can do more, help more, give more to help this little girl and her family. I really want to be a blessing to them but also want this thing to grow so we can help more each year.
Tommy Hopkins and his family whom we helped last year will be attending to give us an update on Tommy ( which is really good news ) so we can see them again. Orlando FL. 7-13-2007 - "I want to apologize to the mini-cup drivers for initially canceling them. We want them to come and race on Friday December 14th and take part in the Charity Truckers weekend" said Rick Bristol.
Because of confusion in the communication of drivers responding to a post asking them to contact Rick. He made a decision based on that and the car counts he had seen. "I got a bunch of calls after I posted the cancellation of mini-cup teams, they are wanting to help with this thing, I did not mean to hurt or offend any of them and ask them to please except my apology and come race. We will run a 40 Lap combined Pro & Jr. race Friday night, and then have them that can display there cars and attend Saturday night on the grandstand side. I will give each driver a free Saturday grandstand ticket, for coming and racing Friday.
"I have extended an offer to another racing group and if they except we will run them also. I will announce them if they except. We will fit it in Friday night, I just do not have room to run either of them on Saturday night, we have a full show to get done at a decent hour" added Rick

Jack Smith has been facing some personal issues with his wife's health recently, he will update a bunch of stuff on the site very soon. Please keep Jack's wife in your thoughts and prayers right now.

David Starr to compete in the Biscayne Roofing Charity Truckers 200 Friday, July 13, 2007 C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing
Orlando FL 7-12-2007 - When the drivers gather to run the 2nd Annual Charity Truckers 200 sponsored by Biscayne Roofing, they will be battling a star. That's right David Starr from the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be attempting to make the field for this big event.
"David expressed to me last year his desire to race at Orlando and be a part of the race. So when we talked about him coming this year, he said "count me in but I want to race". So we have worked on a deal so he can race". stated promoter Rick Bristol.
Starr is teammate to Rick Crawford this year and sponsored by MaxxForce International Diesel Power and Circle Bar Racing. Starr and Crawford race Fords on the Craftsman Truck Series.
"Rick Crawford is a friend of mine from the All Pro days, he supported my Children's Home Fundraisers for many years and attended a few. We are hoping he may come with Starr but we are still waiting to see if that can happen. We will find him a truck if he wants" added Rick.
Florida Truck racer Danny Anderson who drives Fords in the DeSoto Truck series, has offered to field a truck for David Starr. The details will be worked out and Danny plans to compete in this years event as well. The truck will be numbered 10 to match Starr's Craftsman ride and the colors are similar on the truck.
"I want to thank Danny for doing this, I think it will be a great deal for him also, but it will big for this event. It ads to the prestige as our drivers get to compete against at least one of Nascar's best in the Biggest Short Track truck race in the country" said Rick.
You may notice Rick said at least one, he continues to work on Nascar drivers from all the divisions and there may be others that want to wheel a truck in the race. We will just have to wait and see. " We want this thing to be bigger and better than last year and to continue to grow it. I need some help trying to get Nascar drivers to attend, donate etc. I need sponsors to help cover the costs of the event so we can help this precious little girl and her mom and dad. I need someone to call other tracks to see if they will promote with PA spots and posters at there track up until the event, and maybe do a collection night to presented from there track at the opening ceremonies of the event. There are many ideas and needs to fill. I just need people who will take ownership of there part an be sure it gets the attention that I can not give all these things. If you can help please call and please come if you can". he asked. You can call Rick Bristol at 407-497-0448 anytime or e-mail him at rbmini68@aol.com. If you want to see more information on the event and what it is about go to www.carsracermarketing.com. Lets make this years the best yet. If you have not helped before but want to feel the wonderful joy that comes from this then come to the meeting or call, I promise you will feel so much satisfaction in helping others. Foxworth Travel signs on to be the official travel agency for Charity Truckers 200 Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Orlando FL. 6-13-2007 - www.foxworthtravel.com signed on today to be the official travel agency of the 2007 Helmick Family Truckers 200 at Orlando Speedworld December 14th & 15th. "We want to ensure we have a roll in making baby Kaleigh Helmick's future as bright as many of the racers that will be attending this special event. We are actively working on travel arrangements for any of the racers that will need to stay over during this event, and will post as soon as they are available. We are proud to help Rick with this event and will sponsor $100 toward the 1/2 way leader award" stated Gary Foxworth.
"The best part of our business is we can teach you how to earn an additional income by becoming a Travel Agent yourself. It's easy because all of the bookings will be done on your Internet web site and you will earn 60% of the travel commission instead of giving it to others such as Travelocity or Expedia. Travel is something that everyone does especially race teams and their families. By starting your own Travel web site you can book your own personal travel as well as having your family and friends book all their racing and personal vacation travel through you. Once you are ready to start we can have your personalized web site up and running in as little as 15 minutes, it is a great opportunity".
If you are interested in this great opportunity please contact Gary Foxworth at 813-416-9286 or e-mail him at fastruck25@verizon.net.
"We are happy to have Gary and foxworthtravel.com come on board to help us save drivers money coming to this event. I am thankful for his sponsorship of our 1/2 way leader award.
Gary plans to race with us this year as well and he is one of the real tough runners in Florida Truck racing. Please call him for any of your travel needs or if you want to become your own agent, I may just do that myself" stated Charity Truckers 200 promoter Rick Bristol.
Planning Meeting Set Tuesday, June 12, 2007 The meeting for the Charity Truckers 200, to organize a group to help with the event is set for Monday night June 18th.
This will help with most scheduling conflicts indicated. If you can be there it will be so greatly appreciated.
We will be meeting at the A & W Rootbeer Rest. in Old Town on HWY 192 in Kissimmee, Fl.
The time will be 7:30 P.M. and we will try to keep the meeting to no more than 1 1/2 hours. I know this will make it tough on a few but I just ask you to do the best you can to come and help us plan this great event. Bring your ideas and your thinking caps.
You will hopefully get to meet the Helmick family and baby Kaleigh. They plan to attend as long as everything is ok with her health.
I thank you in advance, and if you can't make it please let me know and what you can help with and we will work you right in to the plans. Thanks and God Bless you, Rick Bristol 407-497-0448 - rbmini68@aol.com
